KYLE, Texas - The James Madison women's golf team carded its third-lowest round of the season on Tuesday afternoon to close out the Texas State Invitational, hosted by Texas State at the par-71, 6,059-yard Plum Creek Golf Course.

The Dukes saw all four scorers shoot rounds of 74 or better in Tuesday's final round, as they climbed up to eighth place at the 17-team event with a 7-over 291. JMU's final score of 905 was tied for its second-lowest 54-hole total of the season.

Senior
Laura Gomez-Ruiz led the charge for the Dukes, using a birdie on the final hole of her second round on her way to posting a final round of even-par 71 to climb into a tie for seventh at the 90-player tournament. Gomez-Ruiz closed her tournament at 6-over 219 on her way to  her third top-10 finish of the season.

Katie Turk matched her best 54-hole round of the season, posting rounds of 74 ( 3) and 73 ( 2) to close out the tournament and climbing into a tie for 35th, while senior
Gabrielle Weiss closed with an identical 2-over 73 to vault into a tie for 52nd.

Lauren Comegys (t-43; 232) shaved nine strokes off her second round score, wrapping things with a 3-over 74 to close out the JMU scoring, while senior
Maddisen Cox finished in a tie for 48th at 234.

Morgan Cox carded a final round of 3-over 74, matching her season low, to put herself in a tie for 52nd.

The Dukes will have three weeks off before heading to the Battle at Boulder Creek on March 5-6. The Tournament will be hosted at Boulder Creek Golf Club just outside of Las Vegas, Nev.
