HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – James Madison used three multi-run innings to defeat Hofstra 9-3 and clinch the weekend Colonial Athletic Association baseball series at University Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Dukes (23-26, 8-13 CAA) saw four players notch two or more hits while limiting the Pride (23-21, 12-12 CAA) to just six hits in the game.

Freshman
Michael Morgan paced the Dukes at the plate with a 3-for-4 outing, his fourth three-hit game of the season, alongside two runs scored and a RBI. Senior
Adam Sisk filled the stat line with a two-hit performance adding three runs scored, a RBI and a walk. Senior
Ryan Coale and sophomore
DaVonn Griffin also racked up two hits on the day.

Freshman
Nick Stewart earned the win on the mound to improve to 4-3 on the season. Stewart tossed 5 1/3 innings, scattering four hits and two runs (one earned) with five strikeouts.

The Dukes jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first as senior
Zach Tondi hit a sacrifice fly to left field then Coale followed up with a single through the left side that scored Sisk from third. In the second inning, Morgan and Sisk both hit RBI-singles before freshman
Josh Jones hit a two-RBI double to left center field to give the Dukes a 6-0 lead.

The Pride scored a run in the second and sixth inning to reduce JMU's lead, 6-2. James Madison plated its final three runs in the seventh inning off a RBI-infield single from Coale, followed by a RBI-walk by sophomore
Harry Brown and a RBI-single to right field from Griffin.
