NORFOLK, Va. – James Madison field hockey fell in their first road test of 2018 with a 3-0 loss at Old Dominion. ODU defeats the Dukes for the first time in Norfolk since 2011.

The Monarchs controlled the ball for most of the game with a 19-6 advantage in shots. Â Old Dominion's goalkeeper Lacey Frazier made her first start of the season in goal and tallied her third career shutout.

GAME NOTES:
-Â Â Â This was the third game with a defensive save by
Megan Guzzardi. She now has four defensive saves on the season which is the most for a player in a season since
Florien Sondern had five in 2016
-Â Â Â Guzzardi's has tallied a defensive save in three-straight games which has not been done since Whitney Diebolt notched a defensive save in four straight games in 2000. Diebolt tallied six defensive saves in those four games.
-Â Â Â First time held under 10 shots since November 3, 2017, against William & Mary when the Dukes took just nine shots.
-Â Â Â Second time this season being held to just five penalty corners
-Â Â Â The Dukes took their first penalty stroke of 2018. The last attempt came on September 27, 2017. JMU is now 5-6 in their last six attempts.
