HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison volleyball picked up its first five-set victory of the season after downing Hofstra, 3-2 (25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 22-25, 15-10), Saturday afternoon in Sinclair Gym.

An even matchup, the Dukes (10-3, 2-0 CAA) utilized a strong offense to ultimately hand the Pride (10-5, 0-1 CAA) the conference loss. Â
Senior
Bryn Recker led the match with 16 kills while junior
Sarah Martin led JMU with 45 assists. Junior
Sarah Driscoll posted a match-leading 24 digs and a career-high three service aces. Junior
M'Kaela White's match-leading six blocks included two solo blocks.

MATCH NOTES
- Recker (16 kills, 16 digs) and Martin (45 assists, 10 digs) posted double-doubles – Recker had her ninth of the season and Martin had her fourth. Â
- White (12) and
Briley Brind'Amour (11) also added double-digit kills performances.

Tilbe Yaglioglu recorded a career high with her 17 digs.
- White leads the Colonial Athletic Association with her 73 blocks on the season after adding six today.
- The Dukes hit .351 in the first set for the highest attack percentage of the match.
- This was the fourth consecutive matchup in which the Dukes have beaten the Pride. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dukes led during the entirety of the first set but the Pride took a quick advantage during the second. The squads traded runs until Hofstra took the set on four straight points.
- In the third set, JMU didn't allow more than two points at a time from Hofstra, but were thwarted during the set point, only to have a kill from
Taylor Gail capture the set point and the edge in the match.
- The crews were fairly evenly matched in the fourth, though the Dukes maintained a slight lead. Hofstra overcame a two-point deficit, ending the set on a 6-0 run. Â
- In the final set, JMU quickly jumped ahead and ended the match with a 5-1 run that was concluded with a service ace from
Jacqui Koebel – her only of the match and 13th of the season.
