GREENVILLE, S.C. - Freshmen
Kate Owens and
Carly Lyvers led the way for the James Madison women's golf team on Sunday, as the Dukes wrapped up play at the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman at the par-72, 6,278-yard Furman University Golf Course.
Owens racked up a team-best four birdies on Sunday, carding an even-par 72, two strokes off her career low, to climb into a tie for 48th at the 90-player tournament, while Lyvers bested her career best by five strokes, closing with a 1-over 73 that put her in a tie for 84th.
Junior
Lauren Comegys carded a 6-over 78 on the afternoon, closing the tournament in a tie for 39th. Senior
Katie Turk matched Comegys' 78 on Sunday, finishing in sole possession of 83rd, while sophomore
Joanna Keck carded an 85 to finish 90th.
As a team, the Dukes dropped nine strokes off their second-round score, posting a 301 (+13) on Sunday to close the weekend in 16th.

The Dukes will be back in action on Oct. 8-9, when they travel to historic Pinehurst Resort to take part in the 2018 Pinehurst Challenge, hosted by College of Charleston on Pinehurst No. 1.
