HUNTINGTON, W.V – James Madison track & field finished third as a team with 108 points at the Marshall Women's Classic behind host Marshall (129.50). The Dukes broke five meet records and had two new ECAC qualifiers in the meet.
A NEW RECORD IN TOWN
- Sidra Morris is the Dukes new school record holder in the weight throw with her 18.10m (59'4.74") toss. The mark is a personal record and stands as the 59th best throw in NCAA Division I this season, prior to this weekend's results.
ECAC QUALIFIERS
- Erica Jackson picked up two qualifying scores this weekend in the mile and 800m. The mile time of 4:53.42 is a personal best time for the senior.
- Matasha Martin leaped a 5.60m (18'4.5") long jump to finish first and hit the qualifying mark on the head.
- Morris and Alexys Taylor recorded qualifying marks in the shot put and 60m dash, respectively, but the two had already set qualifying marks.
MEET RECORDS
- Martin's long jump beat the previous meet record by .05m
- Morris set a meet record with her 14.36m (47'1.5") throw in the shot put. Her toss was .33m past the meet mark previously set
- Taylor set the 60m dash meet record of 7.68, beating fellow JMU student-athlete Meredith Wills' record that was set last year
- Jackson broke her own meet record in the mile with her new time of 4:53.42. Her 800m record beat the mark by 3.56.
JMU TOP-10
- Besides Morris' new school record in the weight throw, two other Dukes earned a spot in the Top-10 of JMU's indoor list.
- Skyla Davidson moved up to eighth in the 60m hurdles with her 8.87 mark.
- Jackson's mile run earned her the 10th place spot on the JMU indoor list

POINTS
Top-8 in each event gave JMU its 108 points.
