INDIANAPOLIS, IN. - Junior freestyle swimmer
Bonnie Zhang will be representing James Madison swimming & diving at the 2019 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving National Championships held March 20-23 in Austin, Texas.

The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee posted selections on Wednesday morning with Zhang earning the No. 25 spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.38. There were 39 student-athletes selected for the event.

While at the championships, Zhang is invited to compete in the 50 and 200 freestyle events. Zhang came in at No. 55 in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.57 while earning a No. 50 spot in the 200 freestyle with a 1:45.21 mark. Â

She is the fifth student-athlete to make it to the national stage while being the third swimmer in program history.Â

Divers will be determined by performances at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships March 11-12 in Annapolis, Md with selections announced on Sunday, March 17.

There will be 322 participants at the championships, including 281 swimmers and 41 divers.Â
