Heath Captures CAA Weekly Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - Fresh off picking up the sixth top-five finish of his career, senior George Heath of the James Madison men's golf team has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week.

Heath led the way as the Dukes finished sixth at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, shooting a 65-70-75 (210 | -6) to tie for fourth on a strong 89-player leaderboard. His opening-round 65 (-7) matched his collegiate best and is tied for the third-lowest round in program history.

The award is the second of Heath's career and the Dukes' first in three chances this fall season.

The Dukes have wrapped up the fall portion of their 2021-22 campaign and will return to tournament play on the other side of the new year. JMU will open the spring in San Juan, Puerto Rico, traveling to TPC Dorado Beach to take part in the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 27-March 1.
