RICHMOND, Va. - After her strongest weekend of the fall campaign, sophomore
Amelia Williams of the James Madison women's golf team has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Â
Williams led the Dukes to a third-place finish among a strong field at the 44th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational, finishing alone in seventh place after shooting 73-74-68 (215 | -1) on the weekend to sit just three shots off the lead.
Â
Her bogey-free 68 (-4) in the final round matched her low round of the year and was just one shot behind her own program single-round record of 67 (-5).
Â
The award is the second of Williams' career and the Dukes' second of the fall, after junior
Kate Owens took home the nod on Sept. 30.
Â
The Dukes have wrapped up their fall season and will resume tournament play in 2022. They will open the spring in Boca Raton, Fla., where they will take part in the FAU Paradise Invitational, hosted on Feb. 7-8 at Osprey Point Golf Course.
