HARRISONBURG, Va. - The No. 25 James Madison field hockey team fell 0-1 in overtime to No. 4 Louisville Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at the JMU Field Hockey Complex. The Dukes fell to 10-6 in the season while the Cardinals improved to 15-2.

The Dukes opened up the first quarter preventing Louisville from getting off a single shot. At the half, JMU had out-shot Louisville 4-2, but both teams were unable to find the back of the net.

In the second half, JMU once again out-shot Louisville 5-2, not letting a single shot during the third quarter.Â

After a scoreless regular time, the game headed into overtime. After over three minutes of back-and-forth play, Louisville earned a penalty corner and used the opportunity to find the back of the net, ending the game.

Florien Marcussen had a total of two saves during the regular time and helped keep Louisville scoreless, and earned another save in overtime.

Rachel Yeager, Courtney Lynch, Aubrey Scott King and
Florien Marcussen. The seniors were welcomed with cheers and flowers to celebrate their achievements with JMU.
