LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore Miranda Stanhope was the first Duke to cross the finish line at the NCAA Southeast Regional Friday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Lexington, Kentucky.

Stanhope finished just outside an all-region performance as she was the 28^th overall runner to finish the 6,000-meter race with a time of 20:58.9.

James Madison collected 484 points to finish 19^th out of 31 teams. NC State won the regional race with 34 points followed by North Carolina (73 points) and Kentucky (103 points).

Rookie Sofia Terenziani was the second in the purple and gold to cross the finish line in the 101^st (22:23.8) spot. Laura Webb followed close behind with her 109^th-finish of 22:33.8.

"We had some good performances in a great field," commented head coach Dave Rinker. "Once again Miranda came through with a hard-fought race. I still believe we are better than the results, but sickness just held us back today."
