BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo used a 43-point second half to top the James Madison women's basketball team 62-45 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. The Dukes fall to 3-3 on the year while the Bulls improve to 3-2.

Buffalo's Dyaisha Fair led all scorers with 26 points, 18 of which came in the second half.

The Dukes were led by
Kiki Jefferson with 13 points and
Jamia Hazell with 10 points. Senior
Jaylin Carodine led JMU on the boards for the second-straight game with nine rebounds.
How It Happened
- Buffalo scored more points in the third quarter (21) than they did in the first half (19) as Fair led the Bulls after the break with 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting, a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 3-for-3 from the foul line.
- Buffalo went on to outscore the Dukes 43-19 in the second half. The Dukes were held to just nine points in the final quarter.

- The Bulls shot 38.1% (24-63) from the floor while JMU shot 31.7% (20-63).
- The Dukes had their worst free-throw percentage of the season, shooting just 4-for-12 (33.3%) from the line.

Second Quarter: JMU 26, Buffalo 19

Mikaya Tynes opened the second quarter with an easy layup, but the Bulls went on a run of their own as they scored seven unanswered points to tie the game 17-17 at the 8:15 mark.
- Both teams were unable to score for the next four minutes as a defensive battle ensued.
- The Bulls were finally able to break the drought at 3:31 with a good jumper to take a two-point lead.
- JMU answered with a 9-0 run to end the half with a 26-19 advantage.
Third Quarter: Buffalo 40, JMU 36
- Buffalo's Fair went 3-for-3 from the floor to score a quick 10 points in the opening five minutes of the second half to put the Bulls back on top, 29-28.
- JMU took back the lead at 3:33 when Green made a beautiful lob to Jefferson, who caught the ball and put it up while still in the air to give the Dukes a 32-31 edge.
- However, Buffalo outscored JMU 9-4 in the final three-and-a-half minutes to hold four-point lead heading into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter: Buffalo 62, JMU 45
- The Bulls outscored the Dukes 22-9 in the final frame.
- Buffalo scored 14 points off JMU's nine fourth-quarter turnovers.
