The James Madison Dukes (3-6) are back in the Atlantic Union Bank Center as they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers (5-2) Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.
The Dukes return to the court after falling to Villanova, 76-67, on Thursday for their fourth-straight loss.
However, the Dukes are 3-2 at home and are averaging 70.2 points per game at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
Kiki Jefferson led the way for the Dukes in the loss to Villanova, scoring 25 points, her second most points of the season, and adding nine rebounds. Jaylin Carodine tied her career-high in rebounds with 15, including five off the offensive glass.
Carodine has now grabbed eight or more rebounds in six straight games, getting into double figures in three of those games. She is the top rebounder for JMU, averaging 8.4 per game.
 SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
West Virginia arrives in Harrisonburg with a record of 5-2.
The Mountaineers most recently beat UNC Charlotte, 65-54, at home on Dec. 7.
KK Deans led the Mountaineers with 20 points while Esmery Martinez led the team on the glass with eight rebounds.
Deans leads West Virginia in scoring, averaging 16.4 points per game.
Junior forward Martinez was named to the 2022 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's Watch List and the 2022 Katrina McClain Award Watch List during preseason.
Martinez is the Mountaineers' leading rebounder with 7.9 boards per game and is second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points per outing. She also leads WVU with her impressive field goal percentage of 57.1.
West Virginia was ranked #22 in the AP Poll, but fell out of the Top 25 in Week Four following a 58-57 loss to BYU on Nov. 27.
The Mountaineers only other loss came at the hands of #16 Kentucky as the Wildcats downed WVU, 83-60 on Dec. 1 in Lexington, Ky.
 SERIES HISTORY
West Virginia leads in the all-time series against the Dukes, 8-3.
The Dukes have lost the last four matchups against the Mountaineers.
The last meeting between the two programs came on Dec. 13, 2020 in Morgantown, W.V., with the Mountaineers winning 85-54.
JMU holds a 2-2 record against West Virginia at home. Sunday's game will prove to be the tie-breaker.
