HARRISONBURG, Va. — Despite recording their best three-point shooting game so far this season, the James Madison women's basketball team fell in overtime to West Virginia, 75,68, Sunday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes fall to 3-7 on the year while the Mountaineers improve to 6-2.

JMU shot a season-best 41.2% (7-17) from beyond the arc while holding West Virginia to their lowest three-point percentage of the season at 18.8% (3-16).

The Dukes held a 57-54 lead following a three by
Claire Neff at the 5:20 mark in the fourth quarter. However, JMU would not score another field goal after Neff's triple as WVU went on a 9-3 spurt to take a two-point lead with 17 seconds left in regulation.

James Madison went 5-for-6 from the foul line in the final four minutes, including a pair from
Kiki Jefferson with three seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.

The Mountaineers quickly went up by four at the start of the extra time. JMU continued to fight and cut their deficit to one following two free throws from Neff at 1:54. WVU then ended the game on a 6-0 run, holding the Dukes scoreless the remainder of the game.

Jamia Hazell led all players with 19 points as four Dukes finished in double figures. Neff tied her season-best 14 points while Jefferson and
Brianna Tinsley added 12 apiece.

- JMU held West Virginia to just eight points in the second quarter and forced them into nine turnovers.
- West Virginia was scoreless from the 6:15 mark until they registered a foul shot 1:53.
- The Mountaineers ended the quarter on 5-0 run, still trailing JMU as they headed into the locker room.
Third Quarter: WVU 46 JMU 44
- WVU won the battle of the third quarter, 22-17.
- Hazell went 2-for-2 from beyond the arc in the third frame as she registered 11 of her 19 points following the break.
- The Mountaineers ended the quarter with back-to-back layups to take a two-point lead.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 62, WVU 62
- The back-and-forth quarter saw four ties and four lead changes.
- WVU went on a 5-0 run from the 1:33 mark until Jefferson knocked down a pair of foul shots to tie the game at 62 with three seconds on the clock.
- Goodman then played great defense on the opposite end to make it JMU ball with 1.8 left in regulation.
- The Dukes tried to throw a long ball to their offensive end from the opposite baseline, but they couldn't obtain possession before the clock ran out.

Overtime: WVU 75, JMU 68
- JMU was held to just six points in the extra minutes.
- WVU outrebounded the Dukes, 9-3.
- The Mountaineers ended the game with their largest lead of the day.
