LYNCHBURG, Va. – James Madison track & field opened its indoor season with long-distance runners competing at the Liberty Kickoff on Thursday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

The Dukes had a pair of top-eight finishers in the 5,000-meter race. Redshirt sophomore
Laura Webb paced JMU in seventh place with a time of 17:50.49.

Her teammate, sophomore
Miranda Stanhope, finished fractions of a second later, as she crossed the line in 17:50.57 to take eighth place.

JMU returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 4 when it travels to Annapolis, Md., to partake in the Navy Invite. The event is slated for a 9:30 a.m. start at the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse.
