CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The James Madison women's basketball team fell 93-47 to North Carolina Sunday afternoon at Carmichael Arena. The Dukes drop to 3-5 on the year while the Tar Heels remain undefeated at 8-0.

UNC shot 66.7% (10-15) from three-point range, recording the best single game three-point percentage in the country this season. Â

JMU ended the day shooting 27.9% (19-68) from the floor and just 4% (1-25) from long range to record their lowest shooting percentages thus far this season.

Jamia Hazell led the Dukes with 20 points while
Jaylin Carodine finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Deja Kelly led all scorers with 21 points and Anya Poole was the top rebounder of the game with 10 boards.
Statistically Speaking
- The Tar Heels set the pace in the first half, shooting 52.8% (19-36) from the floor and 77.8% (7-9) from three-point range.

Kiki Jefferson was held scoreless in the first half. She ended the game with eight points, her only single-digit scoring game so far this season.

First Quarter: UNC 28, JMU 11
- UNC started the game on a quick 12-0 run, holding the Dukes scoreless until 6:34 when Hazell hit a pair of free throws.
- The Dukes were outrebounded 15-8 in the opening frame. Carodine was JMU's main rebounder, pulling down five.
Second Quarter: UNC 51, JMU 22
- Hazell led JMU in the second quarter with nine points.
- The Tar Heels continued to shoot lights out with a three-point percentage of 75% (3-4) and field goal percentage of 53.3% (8-15).
Third Quarter: UNC 74, JMU 30
- The Dukes were held to just eight points in the third quarter.
- Six different Tar Heels contributed to UNC's 23-point quarter.
Fourth Quarter: UNC 93, JMU 47
- The Dukes had their best scoring quarter in the fourth, shooting 44.4% (8-18) from the floor to finish with 17 points.
- However, UNC still outscored them with their 19 points on 9-of-17 shooting (52.9%).
