James Madison Athletics, in response to the amended Executive Order 72 by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, has announced plans to host more fans at football games hosted in Bridgeforth Stadium effective April 1.
Â
The updated mandate removes the previous cap of 1,000 spectators at outdoor venues but continues to limit the total number of fans to 30% of venue capacity. This increase also provides more ticket availability for JMU students and Duke Club members.
Student ticket reservations will begin the week of April 5 with priority given to seniors and current Student Duke Club members. Students should watch their email for future updates and visit Student.JMUTickets.com for more information.
Â
Duke Club members who donated to the 2020 Proud and True Fund will be able to order tickets for any remaining home games (including FCS playoffs) and orders will be filled based on Duke Club priority rank. Eligible Duke Club members will receive an email with information on how to order tickets. They can also contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 540-568-3853 or by emailingÂ
athletic-ticket@jmu.edu to make their request.
Â
Due to the limited number of tickets, public ticket sales are not anticipated for the spring football season.
Â
All other JMU Athletics venues will not see an increase in spectators as these facilities have been operating at the 30% of capacity restriction since March 1.Â
As a reminder, the capacity limitations at volleyball, softball, and men's and women's tennis only allow for guests of the student-athletes and coaching staff. Tickets are not available for JMU students or other fans for these sports.
Baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, men's soccer, women's soccer and track & field allow the opportunity for a limited number of additional spectators and these tickets are available to the JMU student body for advance reservation at Student.JMUTickets.com.Â
Note that attendance policies have not been finalized for upcoming CAA Championships to take place this spring on JMU's campus, which includes track and field, lacrosse and softball.
In the event any tickets for the above-mentioned sports are available on game days, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue. There will be no charge for tickets, ticket availability is not guaranteed, and tickets cannot be reserved in advance. Game day ticketing will take place at the Kelsey Lane entrance for Sentara Park events, at the main ticket booth for baseball and at the ticketing table for field hockey matches. For more information on ticketing or capacity limits for spring sports, please contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 540-568-3853 orÂ
athletic-ticket@jmu.edu.
