HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison men's golf team will travel to Kiawah Island and Puerto Rico as part of a strong 2021-22 schedule, as announced by head coach
Carter Cheves on Thursday afternoon.

"We're very excited about this year's schedule," Cheves said. "We worked to put together a good mix of courses against some really challenging fields. That sort of preparation is going to put us in a great position to compete well at the conference tournament in April."

The Dukes will open their season with returns to the VCU Invitational at the Country Club of Virginia on Sept. 13-14 and the Battle at Briar's Creek, hosted on Sept. 20-21 at Briar's Creek Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.

JMU will then travel to Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club, site of the 2017 NCAA National Championships, to take part in the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate on Oct. 2-4, before closing their fall at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. on Oct. 16-17.

After the winter break, the Dukes will open their spring in style, traveling to TPC Dorado Beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to compete in the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 27-March 1. JMU will then head to the Tiger Invitational the following weekend (March 6-8) at RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National before returning to the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C. on March 27-28.

The Dukes will take part in the Irish Creek Collegiate for the seventh straight year on April 2-3 and wrap up their regular season at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on April 16-17.

JMU will take on the rest of the Colonial Athletic Association on April 24-26, heading to Dataw Island in Beaufort, S.C. for the 2022 CAA Championship in search of its seventh straight top-four finish.

The Dukes will return nearly their entire roster for the 2021-22 season, their second under Cheves.
