THE DUKES

The James Madison Dukes open the New Year on Friday, Jan. 7 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center as they take on the Tribe of William & Mary at 7 p.m.
JMU is coming off a 69-61 win at George Mason on Dec. 20 after suffering a five-game losing streak.
Kiki Jefferson registered her second double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Claire Neff knocked down five threes to finish with 18 points in the win while Jaylin Carodine pulled down 15 boards for the third time this season.
JMU was supposed to take on both Delaware and Drexel on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, respectively, but COVID-19 protocols within all three programs forced the games to be rescheduled.
Jefferson leads the Dukes in scoring with 18.5 points per game. Jamia Hazell is the second leading scorer with 13.5 points per night.
Carodine is the top rebounder for JMU, averaging 9.4 boards per game.

SCOUTING THE TRIBE

The Tribe arrive in Harrisonburg with a record of 5-6.
In their last game, William & Mary topped Norfolk State 55-50 at home on Dec. 19.
The Tribe was supposed to open conference play on Sunday, Jan. 2 against Elon, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within Elon's program.
Riley Casey and Sydney Wagner lead W&M with almost identical scoring and rebounding averages. Both players average 3.2 boards per game while Casey leads the Tribe with 12.7 points per outing. followed by Wagner with 12.5 points.
Bre Bellamy is the leader on the glass for the Tribe with 5.9 rebounds per night.
Leading William & Mary in both assists and steals is Kate Sramac with 31 and 18, respectively.

SERIES HISTORY

JMU leads 73-17 in the all-time series against the Tribe.
The Dukes have won the last six meetings against William & Mary, dating back to Feb. 2, 2018.
The Tribe last topped JMU on Feb. 26, 2017 in Harrisonburg by a score of 62-53.
