HARRISONBURG, Va. — The James Madison women's basketball team opened 2022 with a convincing 67-39 win over William & Mary Friday evening at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes improved to 5-7 (1-0 CAA) while the Tribe fell to 5-7 (0-1 CAA).
Sophomore
Annalicia Goodman registered her first career double-double with career highs of 16 points and 12 rebounds. The forward shot 66.7% (8-12) from the floor in her 26 minutes of action.
The Dukes recorded season bests in assists (16), defensive rebounds (39) and field goal percentage (48.3%, 28-58). William & Mary shot just 25% from the floor, the lowest of any JMU opponent thus far this season.

- The Dukes had a 10-0 run that gave them a 12-point lead with 2:10 to go in the opening stanza.
- William & Mary ended the streak with a layup, but JMU answered with a bucket of their own to keep their 12-point edge at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter: JMU 31, W&M 14
- The first four minutes of the second frame were scoreless until W&M knocked down a three-pointer followed by a layup to try and chip away at their deficit.
- JMU answered with a 12-2 run to end the quarter with a 17-point advantage.
Third Quarter: JMU 50, W&M 27
- Goodman registered 10 points and six rebounds following the break.
- The Dukes shot 60% (9-15) from the floor.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 67, W&M 39
- Tynes scored all eight of her points in the final frame.
