Diede Remijnse scored the lone goal of the game, converting on a penalty stroke. Junior
Brandelynn Heinbaugh started in net for the Dukes, making six big saves through over 66 minutes of action.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter, Remijnse broke the seal with a penalty stroke goal late in the second period to give JMU a lead heading into halftime.
- Syracuse capitalized on a penalty corner opportunity with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter to make it 1-1.
- Heinbaugh came up with three major saves in the final quarter to send the game into overtime.
- The Orange applied offensive pressure, scoring the final goal off a rebound for the victory.
