FARMVILLE, Va. – James Madison held Longwood to 13-of-56 (23.2%) from the field to cruise past the Lancers, 82-55, on Thursday night inside Willett Hall.
The win gives JMU a 3-1 record, while LU falls to 1-3 and is set to face #6 Louisville on Friday, Nov. 25.

How It Happened
- Hazell proved to be an early spark for the Dukes, scoring six points and grabbing three rebounds in the opening frame.
- Jefferson hit a floater at the buzzer to give JMU a 21-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
- The guard picked up right where she left off, scoring five points in the first minute and a half of the second period.
- JMU continued to roll, shooting 15-for-28 (53.6%) in the first half to head into the locker room with a 43-25 lead.
- The Dukes' dropped 25 points in the third as JMU's advantage ballooned to 68-39.
- James Madison kept its foot on the gas, cruising to an 82-55 victory over the Lancers.

- James Madison held the advantage in rebounds (56-20), bench points (40-8), and points in the paint (40-10).
- The Dukes' 56 rebounds are the second time this season the team has grabbed 50-plus boards. JMU recently recorded 51 rebounds against Queens (N.C.) on Nov. 13.
- With a 26-point performance tonight, Jefferson has scored at least 20 points in seven straight outings, extending her streak from last season. Moreover, the streak is the longest of her career.
- Moreover, Jefferson has also hit at least one three-pointer in five consecutive games.
- James Madison has now scored 80 or more points in three consecutive games since the 2013-14 season when they defeated Northeastern (85-57, Feb. 7), Towson (82-40, Feb. 9), and UNCW (92-43, Feb. 14).
- Hazell scored 10 points off 4-of-7 (57.1%) from the floor. Her double-digit performance was her first since scoring 15 against Delaware last season on March 5.
- Additionally, McDaniel's 15 points marked her first outing in double figures since dropping 22 versus Northeaster on March 11, 2021.
- Head Coach Sean O'Regan has now led the Dukes to a 3-1 start four times in seven seasons.
