HARRISONBURG, Va. – Toledo outscored James Madison 47-16 in the second half to complete the comeback after trailing by as much as 21 (36-15) early in the third quarter on Wednesday evening at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.

JMU (1-1) shot 4-for-27 (.148) from the field and 1-for-10 (.100) from three in the second half. The Rockets (1-0) finished the game on a 9-0 run and held the Dukes without a point in the final 2:21.

Kseniia Kozlova paced JMU with her third career double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds), while classmate
Annalicia Goodman added nine points off the bench.
Olivia Mullins led the team with three assists in the loss.

Toledo saw three players score in double figures: Sophia Wiard (14), Quinesha Lockett (13) and Jessica Cook (11). Lockett registered a double-double with 10 rebounds to go along with her scoring output. Wiard dished out seven assists to lead all players.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- JMU hit its first four shots, highlighted by a turnaround jump shot from Ouderkirk to give the Dukes a 10-4 lead halfway through the opening frame.
- Redshirt sophomore Peyton McDaniel chipped in with a triple as JMU maintained a six-point lead, 13-7.
- Toledo broke a 4:07 scoring drought and cut the lead to four (13-9) with a jumper by Cook at the end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter
- An 8-0 run capped off by a layup from Goodman extended the Dukes' lead to 23-11, forcing a Toledo timeout.
- JMU held the Rockets scoreless for 6:26, growing the lead to 18 (31-13).
- The Dukes took a 33-13 lead into the locker room after shooting 8-of-14 (.571) from the floor.
Third Quarter
- Toledo hit four-of-six shots to open the half, trimming the lead to 38-23.
- The Rockets cut the deficit to six (43-37) by the end of the third quarter, using a 17-5 run to climb back into the game.
Fourth Quarter
- Six straight points from Toledo to open the quarter tied the game at 43, after trailing by as much as 21 at the 8:45 mark.
- Two free throws from Hazell gave JMU a 45-43 lead, but consecutive triples from Toledo opened up a 49-45 lead for the visitors.
- After trading buckets, Hazell found nylon on a driving layup to cut the Rockets' advantage to two (51-49), but a three-point play from Toledo pushed their lead to 54-49.
- Four free throws from Toledo capped off a 9-0 run from the Rockets to close the game.
GAME NOTES
- Toledo held the advantage in three-point percentage (.267 to .188) and free throw percentage (.909 to .714), while James Madison held a slight edge in field goal percentage (.310 to .304).
- The Rockets' 13 first-half points are the lowest allowed for the Dukes in a first half since holding Robert Morris to seven points on Dec. 29, 2019.
- Kozlova's double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) was the third of her career. Previously, the last JMU player to record a double-double was McDaniel, who finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds against App State last year.
- The Dukes' scoring performance was the first time the team had scored less than 50 points since producing 47 at North Carolina on Dec. 5, 2021.
