HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison men's golf signed two players to its class of 2024, Head Coach
Carter Cheves announced Thursday afternoon.Â

Two international golfers – René Bergendi (Slovakia) and Stefan Rojas (Luxembourg and Mexico) – join a JMU roster already full of international flavor, as five current members of the Dukes were born outside the United States.Â
"We're thrilled to add two high-character guys and incredible players to our roster next fall," Cheves said. "Both René and Stefan have played tournaments at the highest level around the world. Their experience and quality will be great assets to our program."

- Was the captain of the Slovakian National team
- He finished second at the 2023 Slovakian Junior Championship with rounds of 69-70-66
- Took home the 2023 Slovak Amateur Match Play trophy.
- Finished tied for eighth at the Austrian International Amateur.
Stefan Rojas | Mamer, Luxembourg | International School of Luxembourg
- Dual citizen of Luxembourg and Mexico
- The number one player in Luxembourg according to the European Golf Rankings
- Member of the Luxembourg national team
- Finished second at the Division 2 European Team Boys Championship
- Added another runner-up finish at the Swiss Golf International Championship with rounds of 68-69-72.
