Justin McBride was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

McBride earned the award by averaging 22.7 points and 6.7 rebounds over three games last week, shooting 53.7 percent (22-41) from the floor and 9-of-16 (.563) from three-point range, as JMU went 2-1.

As of Tuesday, McBride is one of six players nationwide averaging at least 15 points and five rebounds per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field and from beyond the arc (min. two made).

McBride is the first JMU player to be named the Sun Belt Player of the Week since
Bryce Lindsay won the award on Nov. 26, 2024.

McBride opened his week with a career-high 26 points against FIU on Nov. 24, also matching a career-high nine rebounds. McBride finished 8-of-14 from the floor and knocked down three 3-pointers.

Against the Omaha Mavericks on Nov. 25, McBride finished with 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting while finishing a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc, helping the Dukes tie a school record 17 made threes. He wrapped up the week with 18 points and six boards at George Mason on Nov. 29.
