HARRISONBURG, Va. – Cal used a 15-run third inning to run-rule James Madison softball in five innings in a Wednesday midweek matchup at Veterans Memorial Park.

Going into the top of the third, JMU (11-17, 0-6 SBC), had a 2-1 advantage over Cal (25-7, 6-3 ACC) courtesy of
Raegan Wall's first RBI and double of her collegiate career, a first pitch opposite-field blooper to left field.

Three James Madison errors in the third inning brought forth the 15-run rout from the Golden Bears, with 19 batters coming to the plate.

Kylee Gleason led the Dukes with two hits and a walk on the evening with
Reed Butler and
Cali Legzdin also contributing hits.

Mia Phillips and Kayli Counts were the keynotes for Cal as they combined for three hits, three runs scored, and six RBI.

Top of the First Inning
- With the bases loaded and two out, Kaylee Pond singled to the circle, scoring the runner from third for the early 1-0 Cal lead

Bottom of the First Inning
- Legzdin singled up the middle with runners on first and third to tie the game at one apiece
- Wall delivered an RBI double two batters later to put the Dukes ahead 2-1

- Cal put 15 runs across the plate on nine runs, taking advantage of three JMU errors
- Phillips highlighted the inning for the Golden Bears with a three-run home run to right field
