HIGH POINT, N.C. – James Madison track & field opened the outdoor season on a high note, recording seven top-10 program performances at High Point's Bob Davidson Team Challenge this weekend at Vert Stadium.

Freshman highlighted the opener with a second-place effort in the long jump of 6.21m (20-4.5), making her No. 2 in the event in the JMU record book. Classmate
Sky Bleu Tyson took third in the 400-meter hurdles of 1:01.55, placing her fourth in the event in the JMU record book.

In her first collegiate meet,
Peyton Mermon produced a throw of 37.87m (124-3) in the javelin – good for seventh in program history. Meanwhile, classmate
Mykenzie Britton moved into eighth all-time in the 400 meters, finishing in 55.31.

In the pole vault,
Elizabeth Michael cleared 3.20m (10-6) to tie for ninth in school history, while
Aidan Faith is now tied for 10th in the high jump at 1.65m (5-5). Lastly, JMU's 4x400-meter relay squad finished second in 3:44.95 to round out the top 10 in the program's record book.
