In his first season as director of soccer operations, Josh Warren assisted the soccer staff who was named the Regional Staff of the Year for the Atlantic Region by United Soccer Coaches.Â
Warren joined the James Madison men's soccer staff as the director of soccer operations, as announced by Head CoachÂ
Tom Foley on July 31, 2018.
Â
"Josh comes to us with a great deal of knowledge about our program," Foley said. "He is passionate about soccer and eager to assist the staff in any way possible. As a JMU graduate, he takes pride in his school and involvement in the program and we are pleased to have him join our staff."Â
Â
Warren graduated from JMU in 2017 with a degree in sport and recreation management and a general business minor. He began interning with men's soccer in the summer of 2015 and served as a team manager until the spring of 2017.Â
Â
"Having previous experience with the men's soccer program as a team manager and intern, I am excited to take on a new role as Director of Soccer Operations," Warren said. "I look forward to growing as a professional in a collegiate soccer environment and am grateful to Coach Foley and the staff for giving me the opportunity to work with the program once again."
Â
While completing his degree, Warren volunteered with Shenandoah Valley United's U14 coed team. From 2014 to 2017, he alternated as an assistant and head coach in that program.Â
Â
Prior to JMU, Warren attended Patrick Henry Community College where he played soccer for one season. He was a four-year varsity player at Magna Vista High School in Ridgeway, Va. and played his club soccer for the Piedmont Hurricanes.
