Jamia Hazell enters her first season as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball program for the 2025-26 season.
Hazell finished her career as the program's all-time leader in games played (157) and tied for sixth in games started (120). The Raleigh, N.C. native joined JMU's 1,000-point club during the 2023-24 campaign and tallied 1,373 across her five-year career. She started all 36 games in her redshirt senior season, averaging 7.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest. Hazell posted seven double-digit scoring performances this past season and finished third on the team in blocks (15).
As a freshman, Hazell started the final 12 games of the season, adding 9.9 points and 2.6 assists per game on her way to being named to 2021 Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team.
The guard wrapped up her career averaging 8.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game. Hazell will resume working towards a master's degree in Adult Education/Human Resource Development in 2025-26.
