As a sophomore swimmer for the James Madison Dukes, Morgan feels that she has adapted well to both her teammates and swimming at the collegiate level. At the age of six Morgan began swimming on a summer league and quickly transitioned to year-round swimming only two years later. She swam competitively for Saint Mark's High School in her hometown of
At JMU, Morgan has focused solely on improving and perfecting her performance in 200 backstroke, 100 backstroke, and 100 butterfly. Head coach Samantha Smith stated that, “Morgan is versatile because she can swim many events for us and be great at all of them. She is currently in the top three on the team in four events. She is very strong and has a great feel for the water, but her intensity and drive to be a great backstroker is what sets her apart from other athletes.”
When asked what she contributes to the team, Morgan stated that she “can be counted on to perform, especially in dual meets. I am a competitor.” This type of innate competitive attitude does not go unnoticed. Coach Smith proudly stated, “Her mental approach and competitive spi
