The Dukes won their first conference match of the year to improve to 1-4 in the CAA and 11-7 overall. The Patriots dropped to 0-3 and 5-9, respectively.

Sophomore Tommi Nissinen (Oulu, Finland/Kastellin Lukio) continued his hot play, winning for the eighth time in his last nine matches. Nissinen became the first Duke to reach 20 wins with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Patrick Mulquin at No. 3.

Sophomore Jovan Milic's (Belgrade, Serbia/Belgrade Sports School) 6-2, 6-1 win over Arjun Sanghvi put Madison up 3-0 before junior Yaroslav Voznenko (Kherson, Ukraine/Kherson Technical School) sealed the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5.
Senior Mike Smith (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) and freshman Greg Vladimirsky (Coral Springs, Fla./Broward Virtual) grabbed wins at Nos. 1 and 2 to complete the singles sweep.
