RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison senior
Camilla Czulada was named the Colonial Athletic Association women's swimming and diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the association announced Tuesday.
This honor recognizes student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically throughout the year. Recipients must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and play a key role on their team.
Czulada is a communication sciences and disorders major with a minor in special education. She was a member of the 2016 CAA Championship 400 freestyle relay team, as well as the 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay teams that took silver at the championship meet.
She set a school record with an NCAA B Cut time of 22.95 seconds in the 50 freestyle. She closed her individual career as a Duke with a bronze medal in the 50 freestyle and a fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle.
The Sinking Spring, Pa. native is a member of the Phi Kappa Pi Honor Society and earned a spot on the JMU President's List for academic success in the Fall of 2015.
