HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison men's basketball team will renew in-state rivalries and travel to the Men Against Breast Cancer Oakland Hoops Challenge as part of the Dukes' 2018-19 non-conference schedule, as announced by the team on Monday.
Â
The Dukes will have matchups against multiple Commonwealth opponents, including the latest edition of old rivalries when they travel to Old Dominion (Dec. 1) and George Mason (Dec. 7). The pair represent the third- and second-longest series in JMU history, respectively, having faced the Dukes a combined 176 times.
Â
JMU will also play host to Radford (Dec. 4), after welcoming local foes Eastern Mennonite (Nov. 6) and Bridgewater (Nov. 12) to open the home slate earlier in the season. The Citadel (Nov. 20) and Coppin State (Nov. 29) close out the Dukes' five non-conference home matchups.
Â
The Dukes will travel to Rochester, Mich. from Nov. 23-25 to take part in the MABC Oakland Hoops Challenge, hosted by Oakland. JMU will face the host Golden Grizzlies on Friday, Nov. 23, before taking on Northern Illinois (Nov. 24) and Oral Roberts (Nov. 25) to complete the event.
Â
JMU will make road trips to East Carolina (Nov. 9) and Charlotte (Nov. 16), and will close its non-conference ledger with a bout at Fordham on Dec. 20. The complete non-conference schedule can be found below, with the entirety of the Dukes' 2018-19 slate
