HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison men's golf team will open its 2020-21 spring season on Feb. 19-21, as the Dukes kick off their five-event slate, announced by Head Coach
Carter Cheves on Friday afternoon.
Â
"More than anything, we're excited and thankful to be able to have the chance to play tournament golf this spring," Cheves said. "This will be a very competitive schedule and will do a great job of testing us and preparing us to play our best golf as we get ready for the conference championships."
Â
The Dukes will kick things off in February, traveling to back Golden Eagle Country Club for the Seminole Intercollegiate, where they have continually improved across the last eight seasons.
Â
After taking nearly a month off from competition, the Dukes will return with a condensed timeline, taking part in the Seahawk Intercollegiate (March 15-16) at River Landing Golf Club and the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at UNC Finley Golf Club to cap the month of March.
Â
JMU will conclude its regular season with another trip to the Irish Creek Collegiate at The Club at Irish Creek on April 2-3.
Â
The 2021 CAA Men's Golf Championship is set to be held on April 25-27 at Dataw Island Club in St. Helena, S.C.
Â
The Dukes added bothÂ
Sigurður "Siggi" Blumenstein of Iceland andÂ
Alexandre D'Aurelle de Paladines of France inÂ
this year and, withÂ
the return of senior captain Walker Cress, will now return all six players that saw significant tournament action in 2019-20.
