Newark, Del. – The James Madison divers had another strong showing at the Colonial Athletic Association Diving Championships claiming six of the eight spots in the 1-meter finals as
Lindsey Hammar went on to claim the silver and
Emily Gross secured the bronze in the event.
John Wolsh was named Co-Diving Coach of the Year, his fifth time earning the award, after JMU's spectacular season.
"This was the final meet for four senior. They are outstanding young women and I am very proud of them," said Wolsh. "Our underclassmen rose to the occasion this weekend. We will miss our senior leaders next year but I am excited to see what the underclass over the course of their careers.
The Dukes dominated the 1-meter preliminaries with Hammar leading the way in first scoring 265.70. Gross placed fourth with 246.35, followed by
Sami Ullman in fifth scoring 244.90 and
Felicity Ryan in sixth with 241.90.
Lexi Lehman snatched the seventh spot recording 241.25 while teammate
Faith Anderson captured eighth place with 240.25.
Sarah Stim placed 13
th in the prelims with a score of 220.00 to earn a spot in the consolation finals.
Meg Cresci placed 17
th recording 201.65.
In the consolation finals Stim battled on the 1-meter board scoring 255.70 to place second.
In the finals, Hammar made her first appearance on a CAA Championship podium placing second with a score of 265.90. Gross followed in third to take home her second medal of the weekend with a score of 263.35.
Ullman placed fourth recording 254.80 followed by Anderson in sixth scoring 250.05. Lehman placed seventh with a score of 236.10 as Ryan captured eighth with a 232.10.
