Dukes Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Status

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – James Madison University is one of 426 institutions to earn College Swimming and Diving Coaches of America Scholar All-America honors for the spring semester, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Teams were selected on the basis of their spring grade point averages and represent 17,982 student-athletes. JMU swim & dive had a combined Spring Term GPA of 3.41. The Dukes were one of seven Colonial Athletic Association programs to earn the honor.
After capturing its fourth consecutive CAA title, JMU finished the season 4-0 overall while six divers qualified for NCAA Zone A Championships. Freshman Madison Cottrell had an outstanding season in the pool as she became the first Duke to earn both CAA Rookie of the Year and Swimmer of the Year after capturing two individual gold medals, one individual silver medal and two relay silver medals.
