Kiki Jefferson scored her 1,000
th career point Friday evening as the James Madison women's basketball team topped Hofstra 69-53 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes improve to 9-9 (5-2 CAA) while the Pride fall to 3-11 (0-6 CAA). Â

After going scoreless in the first quarter, Jefferson went on to record a team-high 19 points to become the 32
nd player in JMU women's basketball history to join the 1,000-point club. The Lancaster, Pa. native added nine rebounds, four assists, one block and a steal to her stat line.

Second Quarter: JMU 28, Hofstra 19
- The Dukes used a 7-0 run to take a 17-13 lead following a three-pointer from
Brianna Tinsley at 5:59.
- JMU ended the half with six unanswered points to take their largest lead of the game.
- Hofstra was held to just eight points in the second quarter.

Third Quarter: JMU 44, Hofstra 39
- JMU came out of the break to record a field goal percentage of 54.5% (6-11) and hold the Pride to just 38.9% (7-18).
- However, the Dukes committed six turnovers in the third frame while Hofstra committed zero mistakes.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 65, Hofstra 53
- Jefferson poured in 10 points in the fourth quarter.
- She passed the 1000
th point milestone with a layup at the 1:47 mark, putting the Dukes up 58-51.
- JMU shot 8-for-9 from the foul line in the final minute to end the game with their largest lead of 12.
