COLUMBUS, Ohio – James Madison lacrosse won its third straight game, keeping command throughout a 15-4 win over Ohio State in Columbus on Friday.
The Dukes improved to 3-2 on the season while Ohio State dropped its third straight and fell to 3-3.

Isabella Peterson racked up a game-high with five goals, marking her third hat trick of the season. Senior
Brittany Bill added a hat trick of her own, while goalkeeper
Molly Dougherty made nine saves on a .692 save percentage. Redshirt junior
Mairead Durkin set a career-high with five ground balls and added two more caused turnovers, having entered the game first in the nation in turnovers caused.

Bill's hat trick was the first of her career and she became the fourth different Duke to record a hat trick this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – James Madison 4, Ohio State 0
After a scoreless first five minutes, Bill opened the scoring at the 9:27 mark. With the Dukes up 2-0, redshirt junior
Kacey Knobloch and Peterson scored 35 seconds apart to give JMU a four-goal advantage. JMU had nine shots on goal in the quarter, and held an opponent scoreless in a quarter for the third straight game.
Second Quarter – James Madison 9, Ohio State 1
Ohio State scored early in the period to cut the lead to 4-1, but JMU would outscore the Buckeyes 5-0 the rest of the way. The final two tallies came from Peterson to complete her hat trick. JMU picked up six ground balls in the quarter, finishing the half with 12.
Third Quarter – James Madison 12, Ohio State 2
The Buckeyes again scored the first goal of the quarter, but the Dukes responded with three of their own. Bill completed her hat trick with 1:21 left to play in the period. Dougherty recorded four saves in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter – James Madison 15, Ohio State 4

Maggie Clark became the seventh and eighth Dukes to score in the game. Redshirt junior goalkeeper
Kat Buchanan also entered the game and made her first save of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- JMU has had eight different goal scorers in back-to-back games.
- Redshirt senior Katie Checkosky led JMU with two assists and has notched at least one in every game this season.
- JMU put 16 shots on goal in the first half, while OSU had just six.
