Swim & Dive Unveils 2022-23 Schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The James Madison swimming & diving team has unveiled its 2022-23 schedule which features meets against three reigning conference champions, as announced by Head Coach Dane Pedersen Thursday afternoon.

"I am really excited about our schedule," said Pedersen. "We have three home meets spread out evenly across the season, culminating in our senior meet against Navy. We also have a good mixture of previous opponents and new programs to our roster. I think this schedule will adequately prepare us for our end of season conference championship meet, which is obviously where we focus to perform our best."

The Dukes will open up their schedule in a tri-meet on Friday, Oct. 8 at Atlantic-10 champion George Washington that will feature the host Colonials and Old Dominion. They will then host East Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 29, one of three home dual meets this season. JMU will also be hosting Richmond (Dec. 3) and the winner of the America East Conference, Navy (Jan. 21).

JMU will also face off in the first half of the season against Colonial Athletic Association champion William & Mary and Delaware in the second tri-meet of the season in Newark, Del. on Saturday, Nov. 5. The team will then round out the fall slate when the divers head to the WVU hosted West Virginia Invitational on Nov. 17-19 and the swimmers go to the Fall Frenzy Invitational hosted by Division II national champion Queens on Nov. 18-20.

The team will begin 2023 with a dual meet at Marshall on Saturday, Jan. 14 before the swimming only UVA Invite in Charlottesville, Va. on Feb. 2-5 and a Last Chance Meet at a to be determined location on Saturday, Feb. 25. JMU will compete in a conference championship meet at the conclusion of the regular season that will be announced in the near future.

The NCAA Zone A Diving Championships will be held in Morgantown, W.V. this year on March 6-8 and will be followed by the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on March 15-18 in Knoxville, Tenn.
