KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – James Madison swimming & diving nearly tripled its score from the first day of the 2022-23 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships to take the lead on Thursday night at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

The Dukes finished day two of the four-day event leading the 11-team field with a score of 712.5 points, followed by Liberty at 678 and Queens at 572. FGCU (442 points) and UNC Asheville (432 points) round out the top five.

- The evening session of the second day started out with a new program record in the 200 Free Relay. The team of Schnell, Cottrell, Volk and Cornwell posted a time of 1:30.72 to take the silver.
- Holloway followed the relay with a gold, posting the sixth highest score in program history with a 322.85 to win the 3-meter. Hammar also medaled, taking bronze with a score of 305.50. Yager finished fourth with a score of 281.35 and was followed by Ryan in eighth with a 251.05 score.
- A second straight gold for the Dukes to open up the finals came when Cottrell reset her program record in the 100 Fly with an NCAA B-cut time of 53.29. Gring posted a time of 55.56 to take seventh in the A Finals while Diehl took third in the B Finals behind a time of 55.50.
- Pryne picked up her second medal in as many days, winning the 400 IM with an NCAA B-cut time of 4:15.69. Ritchie swam a time of 4:24.21 in the A Finals to take the tenth spot on the program's top 10 in the event. Aylmer placed second in the C Finals with a time of 4:28.73.
- Bousum (1:48.73), Schnell (1:50.97) and Siddoway (1:51.26) went fourth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in the A Finals of the 200 Free. Cornwell took first in the B Finals with a time of 1:49.43 and Volk finished second in the C Finals with a time of 1:51.70. Bousum is now eighth and Cornwell tenth in the program's 200 Free top 10.
- To close out day two, Gring, Cottrell, Diehl and Cornwell swam the eighth fastest 400 Medley Relay time in program history to take fifth.
