KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – James Madison closed out day three of four at the 2022-23 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming & Diving Championships second in the field on Friday evening at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

The Dukes have scored 910 points, trailing Liberty for the top spot by 96.5 points. Queens is in third at 767 points, followed by FGCU at 612 points and UNC Asheville at 609 points to round out the top five in the 11-team field.

Prelims
- To start day three, six Dukes qualified for the finals in the 100 Back. Madison Cottrell led the group with a time of 54.74 to head to the A Finals. Cameron Gring (55.18), Sydni Diehl (55.69), Alaina Park (55.74) will head to the B Finals and Emily Drakopoulos (56.15) and Lauren Aylmer (56.56) will compete in the C Finals.
- In the first breaststroke event of the championships, Devan Taylor posted the fastest time on the team in the 100 Breast all season with a time of 1:04.01. Abby Zindler recorded a time of 1:05.45.
- Jess Pryne placed second in her 200 Fly heat with a time of 2:03.27 to head to the finals. Angela Ritchie took third in her heat (2:04.76) and was joined by Abby Maguire in sixth (2:07.41) with all three advancing to the finals.

Finals
- The team of Karen Siddoway, Jamie Cornwell, Grace Bousum and Jordyn Schnell swim a time of 7:22.30 in the 800 Free Relay to secure the bronze medal.
- Cottrell earned her second individual medal of the championships, taking the silver in the 100 Back behind a time of 54.19. Gring and Park went first and third in the B Finals with times of 54.54 and 55.15, respectively. In the C Finals, Aylmer claimed second with a time of 55.81 and Drakopoulos took fifth with a time of 56.23.
- Ritchie earned her first medal in the four-day event, winning the bronze in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:00.39. Pryne finished sixth with a time of 2:02.20 in the same heat as Ritchie. In the C Finals, Maguire finished second with a time of 2:06.84.

The Dukes look to end on a strong note as they are back in the pool for the fourth and final day of the CCSA Championships on Saturday, Feb. 18. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. Events will include the 100 Free, 1650 Free, 200 Back, 200 Break, 400 Free Relay and 1-meter board.
