HARRISONBURG, Va. – Five James Madison swimmers and divers were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Swimming & Diving teams, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Grace Bousum and
Alexa Holloway, junior
Alex Volk and sophomores
Riley Bridgman and
Kate Vitolo were named to the teams, with Holloway moving on to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America distinction.

Bousum has a 3.67 cumulative grade-point average as a psychology major, as she earned a nod as an All-Sun Belt First Team selection for the second year in a row. She repeated as the 200 Free Sun Belt Champion with the fifth fastest time in program history at 1:47.54. She won a pair of relay golds as she was a part of the 200 and 800 Free Relays that broke JMU records. She added a silver medal in the 100 Free and the 400 Medley Relay.

A biology major with a 3.61 cumulative GPA, Holloway was tabbed as Sun Belt Diver of the Year for the second straight year. She becomes the first Duke to repeat as a conference diver of the year since Olivia Lehman (2016-17) and joins Taryn McLaughlin (2014-15) and Lehman as the only three Dukes to repeat the award. Holloway won gold on the 3-meter board with a Sun Belt Championship record score of 350.35, winning the event for a third straight season. She secured a second gold in platform diving with a championship record score again, this time 267.15. The Spring, Texas native also won a silver medal on the 1-meter board, advancing to the finals in the event at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

Securing an All-Sun Belt First Team distinction as she led off the gold-medal winning 200 Free Relay that set JMU and Sun Belt Championship records, Volk was named Academic All-District as an accounting major with a 3.82 cumulative GPA. She earned a silver medal at the Sun Belt Championship in the 200 Medley Relay as well, while placing in the top eight of two of her individual events.

Bridgman is an inclusive early child education major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA, earning All-Sun Belt First Team laurels for a second consecutive year. She won gold medals in both breaststroke events, recording NCAA "B" Standard times in both events. Breaking the Sun Belt Championship record in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:01.11, she then swam a time of 2:12.73 in the 200 Breast. She earned a bronze medal in the 200 IM, while also claiming a pair of silvers as part of the 200 and 400 Medley Relays.

For a second straight year, Vitolo was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team. The sophomore is an accounting major with a 3.78 cumulative GPA, while also winning the bronze medal on the 3-meter board with a score of 321.20. The score put her 10
th in program history. She also placed fourth on the 1-meter board with a score of 281.00.
