Dukes Fall in Game Two to #25 Louisiana

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison softball couldn't overcome a quick start from #25 Louisiana which resulted in an 9-2 defeat Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park.
JMU falls to 20-9 overall with a 5-3 mark in Sun Belt play. Meanwhile, UL improves to 25-10 (7-1 SBC).
Freshman Kylah Berry started today's contest and pitched 1.2 innings of work for James Madison. Humphrey took over in the circle during the second inning and finished the game. She recorded two strikeouts, two walks, and yielded just one run in the final 5.1 innings.
Jasmine Hall was the offensive leader at the plate today with two hits and one RBI.
Junior Hannah Hennessy and graduate student Avery Pinder were the other two Dukes that added a hit.

How It Happened
- Louisiana came out of the gates hot when they hit a grand slam in the first inning to put the Dukes down by four runs.
- In the second inning, the Cajuns tacked on four more runs to increase their lead to eight runs.
- Hennessy put the Dukes on the board in the third inning with a home run to left field to cut the deficit to seven runs.
- Also in the third, J. Hall singled to score Pinder.
- The Cajuns added their final run in the top of the fifth inning from a double.
