HARRISONBURG, Va. - Trips to Streamsong Resort, Mid Pines Golf Course and eight different states highlight the 2023-24 James Madison men's golf schedule, as announced by Head Coach
Carter Cheves on Thursday afternoon.
The Dukes will open their season on Sept. 11-13 with a trip to renowned Streamsong Resort to take part in the Streamsong Invitational on the resort's Black Course.
JMU is back in action each of the next two weekends, staying in Virginia with a third consecutive trip to the VCU Shootout at Country Club of Virginia on Sept. 18-19 before heading to Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio on Sept. 25-26 for the Virtues Intercollegiate.
Two October tournaments close out the fall portion of the 2023-24 campaign, as the Dukes travel to The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. for The Carolina Cup on Oct. 8-10, then return to the Furman Intercollegiate - where they finished second and
Daniel Cheng medalist honors last season - on Oct. 22-23.
JMU opens its spring out west on Feb. 25-27, heading to the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz. The Dukes then head back east on March 11-12 for the Ross Collegiate, hosted at the famed Mid Pines Golf Course in Southern Pines, N.C.
The Dukes will kick off their stretch run with their fourth straight trip to the Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted at Country Club of Landfall on March 24-25, before heading to True Blue Golf Club on April 1-3 for the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate.
JMU's second straight trip to the challenging Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club on April 15-16 will cap the regular season. The Dukes then head to the 2024 Sun Belt Championship the very next week, traveling to Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. on April 22-25.
The Dukes return all but one player from the 2022-23 campaign, including Third Team All-Sun Belt selection
Daniel Cheng, and will
welcome incoming freshman Dominic Scaletta for the 2023-24 campaign.
