High School: A four-year starter in high school at Bluffton, playing defensive tackle, nose guard and running back during his career... Missed the first half of his senior with a broken finger but returned to be named Mr. Defense and selected to the South Carolina 40-man team for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, which won the game 28-23... In his shortened season, recorded 44 total tackles,10 for loss and two sacks, earning SC High School Sports Report Division II-Class 4A All-State honors... Also named Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette All-Area Second Team... Earned the Trench Award from his team junior year after recording 42 tackles, 61 total tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks while helping lead the team to an 12-2 record and a spot in the semifinals of the Class 4A Divsion II playoffs in its first year in the division, earning All-Region honors... Also helped the team to a state runner-up finish as a sophomore... ... Was a three-star recruit by Scout.com and two stars by Rivals.com and ESPN...
