QUOTING COACH PEDERSEN
"One of the main focuses that we have talked about for this week, which came from last year's championships, was finding a way to be faster in the morning on back-to-back days of racing. Even though it is not preliminary or final types of situations, it was still an early morning start and an opportunity for us to swim fast. That was really our focus. It's not just swimming fast. It's making sure that we're checked in, focused, energetic and supporting each other. That's really what we were looking for. Times were very secondary. Obviously, it's very nice to get the win. Jason [Mermont] and his staff are doing a great job at UNCW. They raced really hard this weekend. It was nice to get the win and finish the weekend undefeated."
