NORFOLK, Va. – James Madison men's tennis picked up its second straight win with a 5-2 decision at Norfolk State on Saturday afternoon.
The Dukes improved to 3-2 this spring while the Spartans fell to 0-4.
JMU started off doubles play with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a default at the No. 3 position. The Dukes capitalized for the opening point with a 6-3 win by juniors Miljan Ruzic and Sebastian Salinas over Antonio Pejic and Fatehdeep Singh at No. 2 doubles.
With a pair of defaults at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, JMU held a 3-0 lead over NSU. The Dukes pushed to a match-winning five points when Salinas tallied his second victory of the day in two-set fashion (6-3, 6-2) over Flavian Fernandez at No. 1 singles, and junior Brett Moorhead battled to a three-set tiebreak win (6-4, 6-7(6), 10-5) over Dan Dumitrascu at No. 3 singles.
Continuing with their tour of the Commonwealth, the Dukes head south to face No. 20 Virginia Tech on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. before a northern swing to visit former league foe George Mason on Sunday, Feb. 28 in a 1 p.m. match.

UP NEXT JMU heads to No. 20 Virginia Tech on Thursday, Feb. 25, for a 5 p.m. match before swinging up to George Mason for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday, Feb. 28.
