ELON, N.C. – No. 2 seeded James Madison women's tennis cruised past Towson in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association Championship on Thursday afternoon, defeating the Tigers 4-0 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.Â
JMU improves its season record to 12-8 and earns a spot in the semifinals for the seventh straight season while Towson finished its season at 13-13.Â

Daniela Voloh dominated at No. 1 doubles with a 6-0 win before freshman

Emma Petersen secured the doubles point on court two with a 6-2 victory.

Court one earned their 12th doubles win of the season while Amos notched the 49th of her career which is the 6th most in JMU history. Afanasyeva and Petersen picked up their 10th win of the season to improve Petersen's career count to 66 – the second most in program history.Â
SINGLES
The Dukes took the first set over the Tigers on all courts en eroute to the win. Petersen gave the Dukes a 2-0 lead after a dominant 6-4, 6-0 performance on court four. JMU expanded its lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win from Amos at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Amanda Nord clinched the match with her 10th consecutive win (7-5, 6-1) for a 4-0 JMU triumph.
