Abby Amos clinched the Dukes win at singles two.
DOUBLES
The fog cleared and the Dukes (11-7, 3-0) were ready for action against CAA foe Charleston (12-9, 0-1). On court three,
Amanda Nord and
Michelle Los Arcos Balasch went straight to work at doubles three and took the win 6-1.
Shortly after the Dukes' victory at court three, Charleston's duo of Christi Woodson and Anastasia Palaska at doubles one took down Amos and
Daniela Voloh 6-0. The doubles point came down to court two.
The Cougars took a 1-0 advantage in the match following a 6-1 win on court two as Clara Errard and Lily LaBiche defeated
Daria Afanasyeva and
Emma Petersen.
SINGLES
The Dukes battled on all six singles courts look to keep their league record unblemished.
Jona Roka never quit at court four but fell 6-3, 6-3 as the Cougars took a 2-0 lead. Very quickly after LaBiche for Charleston on four won, Woodson picked up the victory 6-2, 6-2 at court one for a 3-0 Charleston lead.
Amanda Nord looked poised at singles six quickly taking the first set 6-2. She continued to battle and after going down early in the second set she came back to win 6-4 and give the Dukes their first point of the day. Nord picked up her eighth straight singles victory.
Senior
Emma Petersen was not far behind Nord at court five. She won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to pick up her 85
th career singles victory. Her win put the Dukes down just 3-2 in the match.
Daniela Voloh won the first set 6-3 but Palaska of Charleston came right back to win the second set 6-3 to force a third set. At the same time, Amos and Nyikos were in a third set after Amos fell in the first set 7-5 and won the second set 6-4.
Voloh battled Palaska to take the third set victory on court three 6-2 and tied the match 3-3. With her teammates cheering her on, Amos came out strong in the third set and took down Nyikos 6-1 to give JMU the victory 4-3 at Hillside.

"I'm really proud of the way our girls competed today. We dug ourselves a hole to start the match and credit to College of Charleston for coming out aggressive in doubles, but we responded by going to work in singles. I really liked the confidence we played with to close out the match."

JMU will conclude its regular season on Sunday, April 7 when they host William & Mary at Hillside Courts at noon. The Dukes will also honor seniors

Emma Petersen before the match.
