DURHAM, N.C. – In its first ever NCAA championship appearance, James Madison women's tennis fell to No. 5 Duke, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in the First Round of the 2019 NCAA Championships at the Ambler Tennis Stadium.

The Dukes completed their historical 2018-2019 campaign at 14-9 with a Colonial Athletic Association championship and a trip to NCAAs.

DOUBLES
Duke earned the doubles point after wins on courts two and three with scores of 6-1 and 6-2, respectively. Senior

Daniela Voloh went unfinished at No. 1 singles, even at 4-4.Â
SINGLES
Court five finished first in singles action as junior
Jona Roka fell 6-1, 6-3 to Margaryta Bilokin. Voloh hung in the first set on court three, but lost 6-4, 6-1. Duke clinched the match at No. 2 singles as Kelly Chen topped Amos 6-4, 6-3 to win 4-0.Â

On court one, freshman
Daria Afanasyeva dropped the first set 6-1 but was up 4-2 in the second set before the Blue Devils won the match. Freshman Amanda Nard was the only JMU player to win a set as she took down her opponent 6-3 before falling 6-2 in the second on court six. Her match would go unfinished at 2-2 in the forced third set.

Amos finished her career with 50 doubles wins for the sixth most in program history while Petersen compiled 67 which is the second most. Petersen closed out her collegiate career holding the school records in singles wins (86) and total wins (153).Â
